Jeff Gordon Announces Retirement From Full-Time Cup Racing
Yesterday, Jeff Gordon announced in front of the whole Hendrick Motorsports team that he will be retiring from a full-time cup career after the 2015 Sprint Cup Season. At 43, Gordon is truly an icon of the entire sport. Almost anywhere you go, If you say NASCAR, one of the first drivers that come to mind is Jeff. I like to think of him as the Tony hawk of NASCAR. In the sense of, you don't know much about the sport, but you do know about the popular athletes. From the Rainbow Warrior, to the Axalta and Drive to End Hunger cars, Jeff has had a good run. And there is no doubt about it Jeff is going to the Hall of Fame in Charlotte. But the question is, what's next? Sure Jeff won't be racing in the cup series full time, but maybe he'll pop his head into the Xfinity or truck series. In the end, no matter what Jeff does, He is defiantly a legend and although I don't follow him, I still love him and hope only the best for him.
